Yum! OK so I now have to add Aubergines to my shopping list too!
How different do these aubergines taste from regular eggplant? I wish I could find different kinds of eggplant here, I'd love to experiment with the different tastes and textures! I'll have to do a little hunting...
I couldn't taste any difference at all, Clotilde, and the texture was about the same as normal aubergines too. I think their main attraction for me is their appearance before they're cooked - they were so pretty, all pale violet and white stripes, in a bowl on the table for a couple of days. What I'd really like to try are those tiny round asian aubergines you can find in Indian and Chinese markets. I wonder if they have a different taste?
