This is the only way I have ever liked brussels sprouts
500g | tender young brussels sprouts |
2 tablespoons | peanut oil |
1 teaspoon | finely grated fresh ginger |
2 tablespoons | light soy sauce |
1 teaspoon | sesame oil |
Wash and trim the sprouts, and if they are not small, halve lengthways. Cook in lightly salted boiling water just long enough to make them tender - they must be crisp, not soft. Drain.
In a wok, heat the oil and fry the ginger for a few seconds, stirring. Toss in the sprouts and stir fry for 1 minutes, then sprinkle the soy sauce and sesame oil over and toss again to distribute the seasonings. Serve at once.
