Chocolate log

1 packetWeston's chocolate cookies
2 cupsmilk
sherry
whipped cream
grated dark chocolate
glace cherries

Pour the milk and sherry into a shallow bowl (use as much sherry as you like!). Soak each biscuit in this mixture to the slow count of 3. Put the biscuits on edge, on a thin layer of whipped cream, with whipped cream between each one (sticking them together and holding them upright). Cover the resulting log with the remainder of the cream. Sprinkle with grated chocolate and cherries. Refrigerate before serving.

To serve, cut the log obliquely - this gives a nice pattern.



Yes, this is naff as, but I love it and I have fabulous memories of it being served at my parents' dinner parties when I was a kiddie.
